Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) is responsible for implement of international aviation safety obligations. The effectiveness of CAA work performance will depend on whether the Estonian state aviation safety standard complies with the standards of EU. CAA´s applies focus in supervision tasks to International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), European Union and European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) guidelines and guidance.   

In addition to the responsibility of aviation safety the Civil Aviation Administration is directly related to coordination the field of aviation security. Nowadays the aviation security has become increasingly important covering the entire aviation sector.
